BBQ & BLUES

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the BBQ & Blues Alzheimer’s Association Benefit Concert on September 17th, 2012! We had a wonderful evening of good food, GREAT music and time spent with family and friends. The night opened with Mr. Perry and Company kick starting the concert, followed by Carriage Hill’s own Administrator, John Sevier, welcoming everyone and sharing the cause for occasion. “A world free of Alzheimer’s” was the motto of the night and the support through donation and volunteering time for the walk was truly a blessing! The rest of the night Gaye Adegbalola & Roddy Barnes filled the place with soulful blues melodies. We had guest speaker, resident family member Gail Sanders, share her story of how Alzheimer’s has had an influence in her and her mother’s life. Her story was both captivating and moving and even had some humor thrown in. The night ended with Gaye and Roddy inviting Diane Pollock (Admissions Coordinator) to perform a duet in the closing song “Precious Lord take my Hand.” It was AMAZING and there was not a dry eye in the house come finish. We want to thank all in attendance, our wonderful residents, their families, the staff here at Carriage, Mr. Perry & Company, Gaye & Roddy, Mrs. Sanders, Lori Myers from the Alzheimer’s association, and Khalfani King for capturing the evening on film for us to remember. We hope everyone had as wonderful a time as we did and we look forward to continuing our support as a Carriage Hill Community in the fight to “END ALZ!”
